Curriculum Vitae

I love paint. Lots of paint. My canvasses carry kilos of it, layer upon layer. Excuberant colours with slashes in the skin. Many images are hidden under the final skin; only I know what’s under it: experiences and trials. Vigorous brushstrokes give paintings an oriental flavour, hardly surprising for I make frequent trips to the Far East. But also daily occasions, nature and cosmos have my interest.

Besides painting I work on installations, bronzes, glass and ceramics.

I see myself as autodidact,  in spite of working at academies and studiolessons by wellknown artists.

Exhibitions in The Netherlands and abroad. Work is in private and governmental collections. 

With Cees van Rutten (1952) I co-operate in STUDIO 44-7 in The Hague. Cees is graphic designer and creator of reliefs. Together we make collective art.
