In this compelling portrait, past and present converge in a visual symphony of cultures, symbolism, and personal history. The face of a contemporary woman anchors the image — calm, powerful, and imbued with a timeless presence.

At top of her head unfolds a surreal landscape, inhabited by handmade creatures and forms that reference a rich tapestry of cultural influences. This upper world symbolizes both the inner world of the woman and the artist herself: a crossroads of traditions, memories, and stories that transcend generations.

The colors red, white, and blue subtly weave through the composition — a direct reference to the country in which Karto grew up. At the same time, the textures and shapes echo the ethnic roots of her heritage and the layered nature of her contemporary surroundings.
